Position Overview

Executive Vice-President, Product Management

The purpose of the position is to manage the final development of product compounds through field trials and production ramp-up into full commercialization.

The Executive Vice-President position will facilitate and oversee product development activities, relationship building with OEM chemical suppliers and build relationships with large chemical distributors and possible resellers.

This position works closely with our academic research partners, scientific advisory board and along with potential key to apply broad product development knowledge and prioritize product development investments. The overall goal is to successfully launch product in Q1, 2010. The position will have responsibility and accountability for prioritizing and implementing product development plans.

Compensation

Combination salary and equity commensurate with experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead development program designed to meet business objectives
  • Ensure technical methods meet the highest scientific standards, quality technical results, data interpretation and summarization to support and reinforce product positioning and business recommendations developed from these results
  • Oversee the development and tracking of integrated project plans. Establishes and maintains project communications. Oversees project estimations. Oversees the development of project deliverables. Establishes and maintains processes to manage scope throughout the project lifecycle. Identifies and maintains project issues. Sets project quality and performance standards.
  • Assess and manage risk over the project lifecycle and maintain project tracking
  • Manage third party partner and/or vendor relations as necessary
  • Responsible for ongoing stakeholder satisfaction. Manages peer-level relationships (expectations, communications, negotiations, escalation, feedback, etc.) Develops relationships with key stakeholders and executives. Provides day-to-day project contact for the client
  • Collaborate and network with colleagues in other organizations to develop potential strategic partners
  • Be the resident expert on AgroShield and provide product development and technical understanding to the manager and investors
  • Develop comprehensive business plans for products/Lines of business
  • Identify new development/commercial opportunities and make recommendations necessary to promote decisions that grow revenue
  • Work with R & D team and our collaborators to ensure testing is managed appropriately and is cost effective
  • Develop external technical credibility as demonstrated through publications and presenting at scientific meetings or trade organizations
  • Implement a user-friendly, technically robust field trial database

Experience

  • 15-25 years of experience in the agricultural industry particularly focused on specialty chemicals
  • Deep relationships with key agriculture industry trade groups
  • Knowledge of both commercial and home and garden agriculture markets and sales channels
  • Experience with field trial experimental design, interpretation and reporting of results
  • Strong analytical, project management, and planning skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to target and interact with commercial partners and the research team
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Outstanding written and oral presentation skills to effectively communicate complex issues in a clear, concise manner to a variety of business and scientific audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions in a changing and challenging environment
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills
  • Ability to thrive and effectively operate in a highly dynamic and informal environment

Company Overview

AgroShield, LLC is a specialty chemical company developing a variety of "Smart Polymer" formulations to be used to protect the world agriculture market from damage caused by frost and freezing temperatures, plant dehydration, heat stress and drought.

The Board of Managers and Investment team is currently looking to hire a senior level product manager to support the organization through the final stages of development and commercialization. This position will report to the Board of Managers of AgroShield, LLC.
